We’ve had a little bit of a rough start to the year. Little Isabel has started daycare (which she really seems to enjoy). And while everyone agrees they are great for babies to learn from other kids, they are also Petri dishes for germs. So she’s had a non-stop sniffly nose which has turned into a never ending ear infection. So we’ve had our 2nd experience with the ER – this time on a joyous Sat night – which is by far the busiest and strangest time to go to the ER. Many tears later, we arrived home to put her to bed around 12:30 am with another dose of antibiotics. I was really hoping that she’d still get in 12 hours and sleep til 11am! But no, our early bird was still up at the crack of dawn. (Is it wrong to want to ‘rock paper scissors' for who has to get up with your baby?.
This is why you need family close by – please grandparents, if you’re reading this, move here! it’s a win/win for everyone!
Oh well, as if dieting and the new year’s resolution pressure weren’t enough … At least I can still beat my husband on Wii bowling.

It's crazy isn't it - no matter how dark the room, how late they go to bed, still they wake up at 6am the next morning, and seem to know that it is the right time to start yelling for attention... Poor Isabel, hope she is through the worst of the ear infections now. We have had a few nasty bugs too with Gemma but are trying to convince ourselves that it's all good for her immune system longer term. Hhmmm...
